Why Anacapa?
Anacapa Middle School is a sixth-eighth grade middle school. AMS is located in the heart of the city of Ventura in the midtown area and serves families across Ventura County. We currently serve 850 students who experience a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment from dedicated and highly qualified professionals.
AMS provides students with a high-quality education. Our academic programs are strong, and students participate in a rich array of co-curricular opportunities. In 2017, Anacapa was awarded the Champions for Computer Science, celebrating the school's involvement in expanding computer science opportunities for our community. In 2016, Anacapa Middle School was awarded the Seal of Excellence School, an award that highlights our school as a model middle school for Dual Language in the state. In 2019, we received national recognition from Project Lead The Way for the work done by our teacher Mrs. Steinlicht with our Robotics program.
At AMS, our goal is to provide students a rich middle school experience that supports their development towards a future that values responsible members of our culturally diverse society while supporting them through their academics.
Vision Statement
The Anacapa School community provides a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment where students are encouraged to reach their full potential. All students are challenged academically and feel a personal connection to the school. Students are taught to understand the importance of accepting others and to be responsible members of our culturally diverse society. Through example, the Anacapa staff teaches students the positive resolve of maintaining personal integrity. The entire school community takes pride in the reality that, working together, we can succeed and make a difference.
