Athletics
Anacapa Middle School offers traditional team sports in an after-school setting for students. In order to participate in AMS Athletics, students must complete a packet received from the appropriate coach(es), and meet all medical and permission requirements and upload to the Register My Athlete online portal. Some sports may have required try-outs as a result of limited availability.

Wrestling
Thank you for your interest in being part of the Middle School Wrestling Program. We are thrilled to launch this exciting opportunity and offer our students the chance to begin their VUSD wrestling journey.
This is our second year of a collaborative program uniting all of our middle schools into one team, allowing us to compete with neighboring districts. Wrestling offers a unique experience, teaching valuable life skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership. We look forward to working with our students to develop these important skills.
We are pleased to announce that James Peters, our Middle School Head Coach, will be leading the team. Coach Peters currently serves as the girls’ wrestling coach at Ventura High School. He is also a youth wrestling coach with Beat the Streets in the City of Oxnard and a youth coach for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We are excited to have him lead our wrestling program. Our mandatory parent meeting will be TBA.
Sincerely, Karly Walker (AMS Athletic Director)
Go Islanders!
